Hitting the speaking circuit

It’s a busy few month at Arboralis with lots of presentations given on a variety of topics

Nick was invited to speak at the Timber Construct 2024 conference in Melbourne where he spoke on the importance of moisture management in timber buildings. It’s a topic that hasn’t been dealt with well to date in Australia and we’re advocating for a risk management approach to timber buildings and secondary levels of protection for a great number of timber elements.

Nick also presented a webinar to Engineers Australia on the subject of hybrid timber buildings and the benefits of mixing materials when it comes to minimising the embodied carbon impact of our built environment. Challenges included integration of models and differing tolerances between materials. It’s available for on the EA Youtube channel.

Next up, we’re speaking on DFMA at the PrefabAus annual conference in Sydney on 28/29th August, and finishing the year of speaking engagements at the Woodworks NZ conference in Rotorua in October!

Phew, it’s a lot of work to prepare for these but we enjoy sharing our experiences with others and it’s a great opportunity to meet others interested in low-carbon timber solutions.
